Trustpilot integration: invitations and reviews in your system

A Trustpilot integration means your system sends the invitation mail at the right moment — after delivery, not after payment — and can pull the rating onto your own pages. Timing is the product. Too early: the customer has not received the goods, and you get 2 stars for PostNord. Too late: the customer has forgotten you. Right: status is delivered plus 24–72 hours. You may invite customers who have bought. You may not invite only the happy ones. Trustpilot’s rules are sharper than your gut. Build the filter so it is legal — not so it is flattering. Cache the stars. Do not hit Trustpilot on every pageview.

Reviews are a flow, not a widget. The widget is the cheap part. Web if you only need to show stars. This article is the invitation and the rules.

Trustpilot is one integration: Small DKK 18,000 + DKK 600/month. Trustpilot’s own subscription and invitation quota are theirs. See pricing.

Say whether you sell a physical good or a service, and when you currently dare to ask for a review. If the answer is “never, we are afraid of 2 stars”, the filter is still what we need to talk about — not the API. Quote within 24 hours.

FAQ: Trustpilot integration

Can we show stars on our custom site?

Yes, via their API/widgets. Cache them. Do not hit Trustpilot on every pageview.

May we only invite customers with 5 stars in our own system?

No. That is exactly what the rules are written against. Invite those who have bought.

Why not send after payment?

Because the parcel is not there yet. You get rated on shipping, not on the product.

What about service firms without shipping?

Trigger on “job completed” plus a short wait. Same rule: everyone who bought, not only the happy ones.
