Clearhaus integration: a Danish acquirer in your app

A Clearhaus integration usually means Clearhaus is the acquirer behind a gateway you already know — not that your checkout button talks to an acquirer API. Most briefs get that layer wrong. The client says “we need Clearhaus”. What they mean is: card payments should settle through a Danish acquirer we have a contract with. The gateway — QuickPay, PensoPay, a PSP — talks to Clearhaus. Your system talks to the gateway. A direct acquirer integration is more work than a gateway. For an SME it is almost never the first choice. For a platform that is itself a PSP, it can be.

Before we price, we need to know whether you already have a Clearhaus agreement, which PSP sits in front, MCC, rolling reserve, 3-D Secure policy, currency and settlement account. Without that we guess the wrong layer. Contact us with the agreement.

A Clearhaus integration is an acquirer layer, not a checkout button

1

Your checkout

Talks to the gateway API. Never directly to the acquirer unless you are a PSP.

2

Gateway / PSP

QuickPay, PensoPay or similar. Session, 3-D Secure, webhook.

3

Clearhaus

Acquirer. The card is taken, money settles to your account.

4

Bank

Settlement account. It must match the agreement or the first payout stops.

The layers most briefs mix up.

Gateway layer

  • What you integrate in the app
  • Webhooks, refunds, 3-D Secure UI
  • QuickPay or Stripe

Acquirer layer

  • Contract, MCC, reserve, settlement
  • Rarely an API you call from the button
  • Clearhaus, Nets or similar
Stripe is gateway plus acquirer plus ecosystem. Clearhaus is typically the acquirer.

Same cards. Different layers in the stack.

What you must settle on day 1

  • Do you already have a Clearhaus agreement, or must it be created?
  • Which PSP sits in front — or do you want to talk directly?
  • MCC, rolling reserve, 3-D Secure policy
  • Currency and settlement account

Direct acquirer work does not belong in a small 18,000 DKK package. The gateway layer does. Say which layer you mean before you ask for a fixed price.

Send us the agreement, not the guess

A screenshot of the login name and the PSP you settle through beats three meetings. Then we pick the right layer and can say whether it is 1 integration in the package or a separate PSP project. Pricing · Payments.

FAQ: Clearhaus integration

Is Clearhaus a competitor to Stripe?

No. Stripe is gateway, acquirer and ecosystem. Clearhaus is typically the acquirer. They sit on different layers.

Should our app talk directly to Clearhaus?

Almost never if you are an SME. You talk to the gateway. Clearhaus sits behind it.

What if we are a PSP ourselves?

Then direct acquirer work can be right. That is a different scope than a checkout button. Say it in the brief.

Can you create the Clearhaus agreement for us?

We can point at the process and build the technical layer. KYC and the contract are yours and Clearhaus’s.
