A Shipmondo integration means your system talks to one shipping-hub API, and Shipmondo talks to the carriers. You do not change integration code every time you add DAO. It is the right call when you use two or more carriers, want parcel-shop maps and labels without implementing four APIs, and the warehouse should switch carrier on an order without a developer. Go direct if 98% of parcels go with one carrier and you want to avoid an extra subscription, or if you have a special business deal Shipmondo covers poorly. You still own the order, stock status and the customer mail. Do not move “when may we ship” into the hub.
